HOW DO I Find and BOOK JINDO SHOWS?
Start where you are
Many of you are DJs, Karaoke, or Trivia Hosts so start there. Can you use Jindo as an add-on to your existing shows to boost interest and perform longer? Is there another day/night of the week that your current venue(s) could plug Jindo into? The people who are booking you for your existing gigs do so because they know you and trust you to do a good job. Use that familiarity to introduce them to Jindo and explain how they can keep people in their venue for 2-3 hours having fun and buying food & drinks by having you host a night of Jindo.
Use your network and social media
Who do you know that can use some fun, interactive entertainment at their next event? Are there local businesses that could benefit from the services you provide? Do you have friends who are realtors, fitness instructors, bar, brewery, or restaurant owners? Join your local Chamber of Commerce or Community Facebook groups. Follow bars, breweries, or restaurants in your area. Are they already doing small bands, trivia, or karaoke? Those are the types of places you want to connect with.
Barnstorming
I mentioned following bars, breweries, and restaurants in your area on social media to see who already has entertainment. Make a list of those places close to you and go directly to them. Show up during off-peak times (between lunch and dinner rush is a good spot) and ask to speak with the manager or supervisor. Explain that you are super excited about this new game you have to offer and would love to demonstrate how it works. It will only take a few minutes! Follow up after the meeting with a call, text, and/or email. Demonstrate your energy and belief in the value you can provide with Jindo.
3rd Party Services
Some of you may use services like Bark or CueUp to book gigs for your DJ or entertainment business. Add Jindo to your list of services and stand out amongst a sea of DJs all offering the same basic options.
FREE Shows
This might get the old eye roll emoji, but givers get. The more value you can provide, the more you get in return. Whatever methods from above that you use to get people interested in your Jindo shows, you will be well served to offer a FREE 30-60 minute show to get started. This will provide no-risk, real-world evidence for the decision-maker (and give you experience hosting!) to see if Jindo is a good fit for their venue. They will be appreciative of your efforts and will likely feel compelled to book a show to give back to you for your time.
How much should I charge for Hosting a NIght of Music Bingo?
I am getting $75-100hr for my Jindo shows at locally-owned bars, breweries and restaurants. So, for a 2-3hr show, I get $150-300 per show. I recommend doing Jindo music bingo shows from 7-9 pm or 8-11 pm as a bridge from the dinner rush to late-night. As eatertainment becomes increasingly popular, Jindo is a perfect option to provide a new and exciting experience that will keep people engaged and buying food & drinks for hours at a time.
I BOOKED A SHOW, NOW WHAT?!
As I said earlier in this article, givers get. So, don’t stop giving now. Explain that you will give them everything they need - and do all you can - to help promote your show and put butts in seats. How will you do that? By downloading our Resources and checking out our Guide to Promoting Your Jindo Music Bingo Shows. Jam on!
